Bethesda Baptist Church, New Rochelle, NY
On February 14, 2011 a fire completely destroyed the Union Baptist Church in New Rochelle, New York. The Bethesda Baptist Church of New Rochelle volunteered the use of their community space for a concert to benefit the re-building fund of Union Baptist.
As part of our community outreach program, members of the New York Festival Singers participated in this concert, performing the following pieces:
W.A Mozart: Ave Verum Corpus
Gabriel Faure: Requiem (selected movements)
Melissa Sheehan, soprano soloist
Dominic Guastaferro, baritone soloist
and, in concert with members of other choir groups,
G.F. Handel: Hallelujah Chorus from The Messiah
