Information for April 2013 All the Dawns performance

CHORUS REPERTORY:

We will be singing the SATB divisi choral parts of some of the 12 songs in 12 languages that make up Christopher Tin's Calling All Dawns, which was recorded in 2009 and susequently won two Emmies.

The music is infectiously rhythmic (and syncopated, though the choral parts are largely homophonic), tonal, and contemporary (think "world music"), and it's no surprise that the composer writes highly lauded commercial scores...and virally popular video game music (e.g., Baba Yetu).

This song cycle is the second half of the concert.

Links to the music will be sent by e-mail to participants; we can't upload it here because of copyright restrictions.

Languages in which we are singing include
►Swahili         (#1.  Baba Yetu)
►Japanese     (#2.  Mado Kara Mieru)
►Chinese        (#3.  Dao Zai Fan Ye; women only)
►Portuguese  (#4.  Se É Pra Vir que Venha; we sings "ooo")
►French          (#5.  Rassemblons-nous)
►Latin             (#6.  Lux Eterna)

►Polish           (#8.   Hymn Do Trójcy Swietej—we sing only the "chorale")
