Information for Dec 31 2012 New Year's Eve performance
Our orchestral partner for the New Year's Eve concert will again be the New York Repertory Orchestra, conducted by David LeibowitzThe concert is free and open to all, with no reserved seating.  A goodwill offering will be taken. 
 
We will be singing two Handel Coronation Anthems and extracts from the Bach Mass in b minor (see below).

In addition to our Handel and Bach, the orchestra will play some Purcell and two women soloists will sing. Alec will be concert organist.

All participants must provide their own copies of the music.
Music must be in black folders for the concert.

You may use your own published scores or print out the versions from the links below, free to all. Please e-mail NYFSweb@live.com if there are any problems with the download.

Orchestral rehearsal

Columbus Ave. & 59th-60th St. 
                                       Enter through the front of the church; the rehearsal  is in the sanctuary.

* DIRECTIONS TO THE REHEARSAL ROOM: Take the left aisle when you enter the church and walk down it until you see the double doors on your left. Go through those, turn left along the ramp and then right through the door leading into the second floor lobby. You will see Room 221 on your left. (There is no need to take an elevator or climb stairs other than those leading into the church.) 


NOTE THAT THERE ARE NO REHEARSALS ON SUNDAY, DEC. 30 BECAUSE OF THE CHURCH’S MASS SCHEDULE OR ON MONDAY, DEC. 31 BECAUSE OF THE ORCHESTRA MEMBERS’ SCHEDULES. 
IT IS THEREFORE 
VITAL THAT SINGERS MAKE EVERY EFFORT TO ATTEND AND BE ON TIME FOR ALL REHEARSALS.

CONCERT DRESS:
Men:                              Tuxedo (or tails if you have them)
                                      White shirt with black (or white) or red bow tie
                                      Black shoes/socks. 
Women:                         Long black skirt/dress or pants (flowing, not fitted) 
                                      Black, white, or red top (bright “Christmas red" only –
                                      NOT burgundy, bluish, or other dark red or orangey red, etc)

A touch of Chistmas red is recommended for all – e.g., scarf, jacket (ladies), boutonniere, etc. 

SPECIAL NOTE:
Please do NOT ask your friends to participate without asking us first.  We are trying to keep the chorus well balanced.
