NYFS altos, tenors, and basses became part of the USA-Japan Goodwill Memorial Choirto sing the Mozart pieces; four of our men also sang with the La Preghiera Chorus. Ms Kimura, with Mr Yamadate as translator, was a rivitingly graceful conductor. The Japanese choristers were exceedingly hospitable to the NYFS, presenting us with origami cranes, other homemade goodwill presents, and candies after the concert.
A great time was had by all!
A rather formal snap of the orchestra and chorus is available here: http://www.manhattansymphonie.com/backstage/carnegie012312/8.jpg.
